Coldplay and Stop Motion

WATCH THIS!:

For this years video course we've been introduced with the art form of stop motion. It seems easy at first to make stop motion films but actually making one yourself takes so much time. 24 frames of pictures take up one second of film and imagine making one 1 minute of film!

When i saw this Coldplay video i was truly amazed. I didn't how they could of thought of an idea like this better yet make a whole music video out of stop motion. Not only is the person being used for stop motion but also the floor which contains the chalk is made in stop motion. I don't really think everything was made in stop motion because this would have taken them years to be able to create it but I still find it fascinating and it makes me really wonder how they truly made it.

Stop motion is very time consuming but in the end its one of those things that if you take time and be patient with it it will eventually pay off. Maybe next year we can do another project with stop motion, because you could do so much with it.

I think I remember seeing this on YouTube one day... and I don't mean just now when I watched it. This video is interesting and captivating. On the film side, it looks tedious and mindboggling. When I watched it, I thought it was imaginative and it accompanied the song well. Using chalk for stop motion would be simple... especially if there were alot of crew members on set to help out.

I'm not as enthusiastic as you to embark on another stop motion video for next year... that's one pixelation/stop motion too many! xD

The first time I saw this video, I didn't really understand. Then as the video progressed I realized that it was all stop motion. I find this video really cool, like the way it is made and how everything just flows together. Its so cool how he is just lying on the ground but it looks like he is just standing for everything. We should totally try something like this, but maybe something a little bit shorter since it will take us forever to make something so amazing like this.

I don't really have much to say about the Coldplay video -it's very creative and I know my opinion is not unique so why share it? Can I just point out how sad it is that Sarah didn't know it was stop motion? I'm sorry Sarah, but that's like thinking Bambi is a documentary funded by The Discovery Channel -just saying. Much love Sarah, I just need to make comments for this unit so I figured I might as well have some fun with it.

I remember seeing this on YouTube too! I thought it was pretty cool, and creative too. Musicians don't usually take such approaches to their music videos. I like how they used chalk. Pretty practical, because it's easy to fix if there are any mistakes. It's also inexpensive. I wonder how much chalk dust Chris Martin (That's Coldplay's lead singer's name, right?) got on his pajamas!

Now, you usually see high budget movie-like music videos that feature popular actors, weird story lines and way too many jokes which make the music video unnecessarily long. Like honestly, is there any point to making 10 minute music video when you fully know that they'd only show about 3-4 minutes at most of it on TV, laugh out loud ;) respects to Coldplay, I also like the song.
